Leon Bridges w/Little Dragon
Marymoor Park, Redmond, WA
08.30.22

I’ll forgive the fact that there were literal T-Mobile ads happening before the show — clearly a tour sponsor — because Leon Bridges, frankly, deserves the money and the due. With two sold out nights at Redmond’s Marymoor Park, Bridges seemingly could do no wrong. Touring in support of his third studio album, Gold-Diggers Sound, which was released in 2021, this particular show felt a bit jilting in comparison to his past tours where smoothness reigned supreme, however the crowd offered plenty of adoration for every vibe.

And there were many. Old meets new. Soul meets swagger. Blues meets rock. At first glance these descriptors might sound in contrast with one another, yet they are naturally quite cozy, and Bridges harnesses it well. His multi-dimensional talent — with one foot firmly in history and the other reaching for the stars — is cherished by many, and the crowd was singing along with every track. Bridges also showcased his incredible backing band throughout the show, which was great to see. All in all, it made for a well-put together show that delivered exactly what the people came for.
