The Showbox Sodo in Seattle was electrified on Tuesday night, as Betty Who took the stage for her “Big! Tour” concert. The Australian pop star’s dynamic energy and stage presence captivated the audience, many dressed in sequins, and left fans buzzing long after the show ended.
Opening the set with three upbeat songs âWEEKENDâ, âMama Sayâ, and âShe Can Danceâ, Betty Who immediately established a high-energy, party atmosphere that lasted throughout the entire performance. Her vocal performance was pitch-perfect, and her stage presence was engaging, with two dancers choreographed to dance with her that matched the upbeat tempo of her music.
Dressed in a vibrant solid Red business suite along side two dancers dressed in solid âYellowâ and âPinkâ business suite. The vibrant arrangement of colors popped off just as much as the loud bombastic music. The back of the stage had three large video panels shinning bright and displaying complimentary imagery all night.
One of the standout moments of the night was when Betty Who performed a mass up of six of her songs including âGlory Days / Old Me / Pretend You’re Missing Me / Look Back / Lovin’ Start / You Can Cry Tomorrowâ. The 45 second – 60 seconds of each song played one after another was a unique experience hearing so quick all together. With a large catalog of music the fans were glad to hear a little bit of each one instead of missing out on seeing them preformed live.
Betty Who was also a master of audience interaction, frequently engaging with fans and creating a sense of connection. Stopping ever so often to chat with fans and tell them about the songs. Fans packed as close to the stage as possible to get as close to the stage, leaving no room except at the very back of the venue.Â
The concert’s production value was also top-notch, with stunning lighting and video effects that added an extra layer of excitement to the performance. The sound quality was excellent, allowing the audience to fully experience Betty Who’s impressive vocal range and the intricate details of her music.
Getting the party started was drag queen Shea Coulee who was on RuPaulâs Drag Race Season 9 and RuPaulâs Drag Race All Stars Season 5. Dressed in a bright Pink outfit, she command the stage for her 30 minute set that was equally impressive and stunning.
Overall, the Betty Who “Big! Tour” concert at the Showbox Sodo was a truly memorable experience. The night ended with some of her biggest hits including âSomebody Loves Youâ, âBlow Out My Candleâ and her cover of Donna Lewisâs âI love You Always Foreverâ. If you close your eyes you might think itâs Donna Lewis singing the song even. Her impressive vocal performance, dynamic stage presence, and audience interaction made for an unforgettable night that left fans both energized and inspired.Â
