This year has been a wild ride for Thunderpussy—a Seattle foursome known for their theatrical, face-melting, ’70s tinged rock. After a few years spent garnering local praise for their intense live shows and undeniable chemistry, Thunderpussy made headlines with a major-label signing, a Supreme Court battle over the scandalous nature of their name, and the release of their eponymous EP this past Memorial Day.
With a local cheering section following their every move, Thunderpussy celebrated with both national and European tours, bringing their signature swagger to crowds across the globe. Aside from making their own waves, the band has gotten cozy with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready who not only lent his skills to their single “Velvet Noose” but signed him to his Stardog Records last November.
Now, the band is bringing their bombastic talent to The Showbox for another round of New Year’s Eve shenanigans (it’s not the first time they’ve raised a glass to the calendar shift at the historic venue), along with Portland’s Red Fang and Seattle’s The Black Tones.
