Ben Howard is just the vibe Seattle needs right now. As Pumpkin Spice Lattes are being advertised again and the weather takes a turn for the cold, maybe it’s time we transition from sunny festival dance-pop back to slightly softer songs. And that’s where the UK singer-songwriter comes into play.
Since the release of his lovely 2011 debut album, Every Kingdom, Howard’s star has been on the rise. “Promise” and “Only Love” gained him a nice fan base after they were featured in the 2014 teen romance, If I Stay, but the songs also held their own. The album was full of perfectly soothing tracks, showcasing a sound you could easily float along to.
Taking a more experimental turn in 2014, with I Forget Where We Were, Howard proved he’s more than just a guy with a nice voice and a guitar. He expanded his sound, and with that, expanded his following too. Now, with the release of his third album, Noonday Dream, a few months ago, and on the heels of a sold-out European tour, Howard is all geared up with fresh music, ready for people to fall in love with him all over again—and what better setting than the beautiful stage of The Paramount?
He’ll be joined by indie folk duo Wye Oak for a night to remember.
