In support of his Silver Torches latest album, Let it Be A Dream, Erik Walters is bringing his idiosyncratic contradictions live to Seattle’s Tractor Tavern on January 12. On this sophomore work, Walters balances the bleak and bright, questions everything from love to politics, and pushes synth-tinged, folksy Americana into the territory of epic road trips and cozy winter nights.
Lush, dreamy tracks wrap themselves around deliberate hooks that showcase Walters’ expertise with a hook. And as someone who has toured with Pedro The Lion, David Bazan, and Perfume Genius, Walters is no slouch in his instrumentation either. His skillful harmonies and sharply crafted existentialism are not to be missed. Silver Torches will be joined for this show by The Hollers and Elizabeth Gundersen.
