Preview: The True Loves
High Dive, Seattle, WA
03.10.17
It’s the second coming of The True Loves – after a split with singer Grace Love last summer – and they’re bigger and brassier than ever. The bombastic instrumental soul eight-piece is fresh of recording and ready for their first show of 2017. They’re bringing their party to Fremont’s High Dive and these ultra-talented guys are going to heat up the room.
Always full of deep bass and big horns, the band has added local sax legend Skerik to the mix, creating a tour-de-force horn section that’s not to be missed. The True Loves are getting down to business now, their syncopated rhythms and collaborative jamming shining in their best light. Their modern take on vintage soul and funk is smart, smooth, and ready to party, and they’ve got new hits coming your way.
Joining them for the show are Portland’s pigWar, whose funk-laden, psychedelic soul will be perfect to set the stage for the night’s explosive musicianship.
