If you want to kick off 2017 in sophisticated cannabis style, we’ve got just the show for you to do it with. Award-winning hip hop recording artist Juicy J is about to set off on Rubba Band Business: The Tour, presented by cannabis lifestyle media company, Merry Jane. Yes, they’re the producers of VH1’s Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, so you know the party is gonna be good.
For the 36-date North American tour, Juicy J is getting a little help from his his friends. Special guest Belly, the budding Roc Nation rapper, songwriter, and producer, as well as Memphis-based rapper (and Juicy J’s brother) Project Pat will be there for support.
With one ear to the street and the other on bringing home Oscar wins, Juicy J has gone from colossal rap group Three 6 Mafia to certified solo star. The artist’s forthcoming sophomore album, Rubba Band Business: The Album, set to release this winter, is said to be an homage to the rapper’s iconic mixtape series. The project includes the single “Ballin,” featuring Kanye West, a swaggering reunion of the artists for the first time in a decade, as well as “No English,” featuring Travis Scott. Not shying away frequent creative output since his 2013 debut, Stay Trippy, Juicy J has led up to the album’s release with a string of mixtapes including 2016’s Lit in Ceylon and #MUSTBENICE, as well as the much-discussed collaborative album with Wiz Khalifa and TM88, TGOD Mafia: Rude Awakening.
Belly for his part, has certainly been making a name for himself as well, having co-penned hit records with a variety of A-listers,
including, most notably, The Weeknd. The Canadian native has released a string of solid mixtapes, paving the way to his Roc Nation signing in 2015. And since then, three additional mixtapes have seen him star in a dark, dynamic collection of tracks that showcase his gritty, clever lyricism alongside a slew of impressive guests like Travis Scott, Kehlani, B-Real, Future, and Lil Wayne.
