Preview: Iration w/ Protoje and Zach Deputy
Showbox SoDo, Seattle, WA
01.27.17
Since 2006, the boys of Iration have been touring the country, becoming mainstays on the festival circuit with their smooth roots-reggae sound and aloha spirit. Hailing from Hawaii and coming together in the roots hotbed of Southern California, Iration is at the forefront of the roots revival along with bands such as the Tribal Seeds, Slightly Stoopid, and Rebelution. They will descend upon Seattle for a two-night stint at Showbox SoDo on their “Lost and Found Winter Tour” in support of their latest release, Double Up, an acoustic album released at the close of 2016.
Touring along with Iration will be Protoje and Zach Deputy. Protoje, son of Jamaican singer Lorna Bennett, brings his socially conscious, traditional reggae to the table. Complementing the crew is the one-man band known as Zach Deputy, who is famous for his infectious smile, sprawling microphone setup, and ability to create all the beats himself; although he has put together a pretty funky band since he came on the scene in 2010.
With this lineup and the yearning for some warmer temperatures, it’s safe to assume that SoDo will be full of the faithful, dancing and grooving to some hot beats and cool vibes.
