Blue October w/ Danny Malone
Showbox, Seattle, WA
06.11.16
A sold out crowd was present from the start for Blue October’s Show box show in Seattle, including a 150-person pre-show VIP meet & greet.
Opener Danny Malone said it was his first time in Seattle, and having walked around a lot, he loved the city. He also ate some gum off the gum wall at Pike Place Market… so whatever we have he has now. As he played, he stopped to ask the audience if he could borrow a pair of sunglasses. Continuing the show, he was joined by Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld and Ryan Delahoussaye, much to the crowd’s delight.
Then Blue October took the stage to massive applause. The crowd was so into the band and front man Justin Furstenfeld kept stepping out and leaning on the barricade railing to meet and touch the fans as he sang with them. They delivered a very high-energy performance, the audience singing along with every song.
The band was so grateful for the sold out show and how much the fans have stuck with them through so much. At one point they asked everyone to hold up their cell phones/lighters, and it turned the packed house into a beautiful universe of light.
