Portland, Oregon’s heavy-riffing Red Fang made a triumphantly sold out return to Seattle’s Neumos for one of three special “10th Anniversary NorthWest Extravaganza” shows tonight. And they brought Bellingham’s Wild Throne and Seattle’s own Helms Alee to open the gig, two bands that have shared the stage for numerous tours throughout the years.

Wild Throne and Helms Alee are both three-piece bands, but that’s about all they share. Each has a sonic sound so unique and profound that they are a must see in the local scene, creating very dynamic live shows with great stage presence and songs that hit hard.

Looking around the packed venue it seemed that “Beard Rock” was alive and well. The anticipation grew and the crowd surged forward when Red Fang finally took the stage for a show that can best be described as “pure rock fury.”

Bassist Aaron Beam and guitarist Bryan Giles perfectly traded off vocal duties song after song. The band even played four new tunes tonight that sounded fantastic. One of the highlights tonight was when members of Helms Alee and Wild Throne took to the side of the stage and showered Red Fang with a dozen red roses as they played.

If you ever get a chance to see them live do not miss the opportunity. You are sure to witness a hard rocking work ethic that has garnered Red Fang a loyal fan base all over the world. Thanks for celebrating with Seattle, and Happy 10th Anniversary. Here’s to many more years of continued success!
