The Tragically Hip
Paramount Theatre, Seattle, WA

I first discovered my love of The Tragically Hip in college while working as a DJ for the on-campus radio station. I somehow came across a copy of the bands 1999 release “Up To Here” in the massive stacks. I took a listen and ended up selecting track #3 for broadcast. The bluesy rock sounds of “New Orleans Is Sinking” were summarily transmitted out across the airwaves and into the radios of anyone who happened to be tuned in at the time. Given my DJ shift was at 6 am on a Sunday morning, I doubt I had much of an audience but the song stuck with me and remains one of my favorites to this day. It took over a decade before I finally got to see them live but they were every bit as good live as they were on that CD I played oh so many years ago. The band started off as a bunch of childhood friends jamming together in Kingston, Ontario but have gone on to become a legendary success in Canada having an almost cult-like following where fans will travel across the great white north to see them perform. You can see this Canadian Hall of Fame act for yourself this Tuesday for a rare seated show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.
The Tragically Hip @ Paramount Theatre / Tuesday, September 29th – $75.75 (floor seats)
