Fifteen years in, the Danish metal band Volbeat has seen their share of the international road. The band released their fifth studio album Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies back in 2013 and they’re still out there on a massive intercontinental tour giving it all to the diehard fans. Bringing along a show worthy of the vast WaMu Theater, Volbeat kept up the pace; delivering a set full of known records as well as some new music they tested on the crowd.
The band’s unique blend of metal with rockabilly has hit its stride, helped further by production from former Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano who joined the band in 2013. As a whole, Volbeat is one of the few metal bands that earnestly appears to be having fun up on the stage, their sound bigger and badder live than on record.
Anthrax and Crobot opened the show for a full set of all metal, all night.
