The Maine w/ Real Friends
El Corazon, Seattle, WA
04.15.15
Tempe-based alternative band The Maine took over El Corazon on Wednesday, along with Illinois sad boys Real Friends. Stemming from a kinship sparked by Fearless Records several years ago, these two lit up both the floor and the stage, between a palpably excited crowd and a tangible anxiousness to play for Seattle. Real Friends stated that the Emerald City was one of their favorite places to play, and their tuned-in performance was near perfect, and most beautiful in its simplicity. Singer Dan Lambton revealed that he had a terrible head cold, but one would be hard-pressed to tell the difference, as his vocals seemed spot-on. The Maine had their own light production, sporting a huge “M” at the back of the stage and four large lights at their feet. The colors may have been changing, but their tenacity was unwavering, burning the night away as the crowd sang along to every song. If you have the opportunity to catch these gentlemen out and about, take it; they still have quite a stretch of land to cross before they take a breather.
