The Pretty Reckless
El Corazon, Seattle, WA
10.04.14
Sweaty bodies and close quarters is a generally accurate description of The Pretty Reckless show on Saturday night, which had long ago sold out, thus dooming El Corazon patrons to tough it out in a lack of air and space. We may have passed through the Seventh Circle of Hell; our photographer still hasn’t made it back yet. The long lines and aggravation paid off, however, as The Pretty Reckless, fronted by bad girl Taylor Momsen, put on a bitchin’ show. The ‘intimate’ setting afforded the crowd a rare opportunity to get up close and personal, though Momsen seemed content to stay masked behind her hair. Hair everywhere. TPR walked on stage with of AC/DC’s “Hells Bells” playing, continuing their performance for over an hour in choking heat. The only things absent were the flames. Be sure to check out their sophomore album released earlier this year, Going To Hell, and watch out for the little man with the pitchfork.
