Hardware Showcase
The Hardware showcase was housed in the amazing venue of the Sky Church at Seattle’s Experience Music Project Museum. The spectacular setting made for a stunning display for this installment of some of Decibel’s most anticipated artists. With it’s 60 by 33 feet LCD screen and incredible sound system, the site imparted a feast for nearly all the senses.
Beginning with Luke Mandala at 9:15, the night started off impressively as Luke delved into a set full of self produced tracks. Lukes boasts a prolific catalog of original compilations and showed his finesse at musical creativity with a night of new constructions and reconstruction of the old. Songs like Right Now With You showed Lukes skill at mixing prototype sounds, and Luke sprinkled the set as well with remarkable remixes of songs like I Need You by Renato Borges.
Robert Babicz took the stage at 10:15 with an edgy fast paced set. By this point the crowd was on their feet and dancing with elation. With robust beats Robert spun the crowd into a frenzy and had everyone moving at an even more fevered pace in no time.
Songs like Rave Angel gave the show a gritty feeling that took spectators to another world.
Simian Mobile Disco began their set at 1145, performing work from their newest album, Whorl. The raw values of the recordings were accompanied by an oscilloscope, providing an unadulterated visual representation of the concept of their sounds.
Innovative tracks like Dirvish presented the marvelous path electronic music can take when it stays close to purity. Simian Mobile Disco’s fresh tempos closed the night on a fabulous note, after leading those lucky enough to attend on a truly unique musical journey.

Kingdom : Decibel Edition at Q Nightclub
At Q Nightclub, a Seattle standard for housing electronic music, the Kingdom : Decibel Edition put on a delectable showcase of beats. Within the walls of the establishment known for its first-rate sound system, a complimentary group of DJs from near and far were amassed. Together they revealed an evening of fine tuned electronic rhythms that pleased the ear and provoked nearly all in attendance to get out there and bust a move.
The night started off right with Sean Majors at 9PM. With an adept touch Sean got the audience going with his take on electronic music. The energy built through Sean’s set as he laid out remixes of songs like Bakerman by Laid Back and Hausch by andhim. His diverse flavor and varied approach to mixing set the tone for an enticing night of music.
Q’s in house DJ Bgeezy took the room at 9:46. Bgeezy helped build the crowd’s enthusiasm as the dance floor filled. His choices of songs and mixing got most folks dancing who weren’t already, and made those who weren’t wish they were. Versions of songs like Jubel by Klingande earned Bgeezy the praise of all in the space. Ending with a mix of Pony by Ginuwine, Bgeezy left the mob enticed and wanting more.
Starting with a rendition of Disclosure by You & Me, Kastle took the night on at 10:30 with his bass-heavy beats and ear for novelty. Kastle’s talent for crisp production was clear, and he moved through his set with taste, leaving the throng always anticipating his next step. Kastle finished the night with an original track called Stay Forever that ended his time as well as it began.
Led by Nic Offer, !!! came on the stage at 12 and kept building on the great routines before them. With their eclectic approach and penetrating sounds their showcase resonated through the club and kept everyone on the floor moving.
