Juicy J
Showbox SODO, Seattle, WA
08.12.14
The south end of town bumped Tuesday night, saying hello and goodbye in quick succession to five openers before Juicy J made his appearance on the SODO stage. The scene was generally a hot mess, and the surrounding company made for a long evening. The opening act, Scotty Jay, was booed after his performance. A fight broke out midway through the sets, but was successfully quelled by the security staff. And, to top off the commotion, someone vomited near the front of the stage, causing staff to hurriedly work at clearing the floor, all while the show proceeded on stage.
Yep, it sure seemed like this Tuesday night was going to hell in a hand basket, and fast. The night finally starting taking a positive turn when Luke Christopher went on, doing a great job of getting the audience pumped up in non-violent fashion. The crowd was certainly ready for Juicy J by the time his slot was up, and he did not disappoint. He played a great array of old and new songs, including notable performances of Bounce It, Smoke a Nigga, and Smokin’ Rollin’. Juicy J seemed very connected to the audience, and the audience, thankfully, was receptive.
Openers, in order, were: Scotty Jay, Leezy Soprano, Dirtay, DKMG, and Luke Christopher.
