There are concerts and then there are magical spectacles of mind blowing visual experiences that change how you perceive the world and rethink what is true in life. The Justin Timberlake’s concert at Seattle’s Key Arena was just that.. plus whole lot more. Last time Justin Timberlake came to Seattle he brought ‘sexy’ with him. This time he brought a whole new set of fresh experiences for everyone’s 20/20 vision to witness. It’s hard to think back to my elementary school days when Justin was the awkward blonde kid singing in the popular boy band N’Sync when he was young, naive and inexperienced. The Justin Timberlake from Friday night was nothing of the sort. He has matured, wised up and suited up to bring the best experience possible to the screaming fans of Seattle. It was obvious who he would be rooting for on Sunday by referring to everyone in attendance as the “12 man”, which gained JT major points and loud screams. After performing the opening song “Pusher Love Girl”, the entire stadium erupted into a mix of applause, screams and yelling. JT just stood there for a moment to embrace the noise. To be in the moment, letting it all sink in. He stood humbled by the arena filled with people who were here to see him perform. Embracing this fact and not taking it for granted is just one of the main reasons Justin Timberlake is a class act. For three hours this performance went on. After about 14 songs JT went off stage and was thought to return for an encore. But little did we know, the show was far from over. After a short 15 minute intermission the show started up again for another hour and a half. Returning after a break and wardrobe change he told the audience jokingly, “It’s my show and if I want a break I can have one. I am old, I’m 32 now”. The spectacular performance everyone was expecting from JT in a larger than life performance was delivered. Along with a showcase of musical performances that ranged from Elvis Presley to Michael Jackson that one wouldn’t think could be humanly possible. But JT delivered the unimaginable. During the 2nd set the stage lifted off its foundation, rolled across the arena and with it a two-story high rolling staircase. JT walked, ran and danced up and down the staircase stretching both sides of the stadium singing his heart out. The man danced for nearly three hours of the show dressed in his Sunday best a snazzy suit and bowtie. He has definitely raised the bar for his next record and tour. I look forward and am excited for the unimaginable spectacular show JT will dream up!
