Thursday night brought out two exciting hip-hop bands, The Ready Set and Outasight, to the Washington State University Senior Ballroom for the first concert of 2013.
Without normal tours openers Outasight took over opening duties to opening the concert. Having just released his first album, in late 2012, Outasight’s brought the heat with his catchy hip hop songs from Nights Like These. Opening just before The Ready Set, Outasight started the show off with bang. Outasight’s performance of his hit singles “Now or Never”, “Tonights the Night”, and his most recent “I’ll Drink to That” made everyone in attendance either dance, jump, or scream with excitement. Sometime all three at once. With a debut album with as many hits as this it will not be surprising to see Outasight headlining concerts in the very near future. Outasights opening performance and songs were powerful, catchy, energetic. If concert goers did not know who Outasight was before the concert, everyone left with a great impression of his hip-hop music.
Opening with their first hit song from 2010, “Love Like Woe” opened The Ready Sets performance and started the night off by jolting the fans adrenaline with one of their best songs. Right off the bat they brought the energy level of the room to a high point and never letting it go. Lead singer Jordan rarely stayed in position all night. Moving around the stage from one side to the other singing for his screaming fans. The highlight of the show had to be the final song of the night when The Ready set preformed their current single off, their soon to be released new album, “Give Me Your Hand”. A bright, catchy song with a intensely energetically. The poppy chorus left everyone in the crowd jumping their highest with both hands in the air singing along. The final songs performance left the crowd with an performance they wont soon forget. It defiantly left an impression on me and I have successfully killed this song and opener, Outasights, hit songs by playing it on repeat. Both artists ended the night by signing autographs and taking pictures with their fans just after the show ended. For photos from the concert keep scrolling!
